Rapid RTPCR test rates fixed – Health Minister Rajesh Tope.
MUMBAI: Minister Mr Tope said that rapid RTPCR test is diagnosed faster than conventional RTPCR test in just 15 to 20 minutes. This allows these tests to be performed during an airport, emergency train journey or other medical disasters. However, the charges for rapid RTPCR testing are higher. But now the reagents, VTM kits, PPE kits and orange extraction kits required for inspection are available at reasonable prices. At the same time, the number of laboratories has increased significantly. In view of these matters, the appointed committee submitted a report to fix the rates. Accordingly, a rate of Rs. 1975 has been fixed for rapid RTPCR test in any laboratory operating in the state. These rates will be for both Abbot ID / Thermo fisher Accula test methods. However, the Tata Tata MD3 Gene Fast / Tata MDFX test method will cost Rs 975. However, laboratories will be allowed to charge an additional rate of Rs.
The rates for the general RTPCR test have been fixed as per Government Resolution dated 6th December 2021. These rates will continue till further orders, said Mr Tope.
As per the ruling issued on December 6, rates of Rs 350, Rs 500 and Rs 700 have been fixed for Kovid RTPCR tests. The patient will be charged Rs. Rs.500 / – will be charged for sampling and reporting from the laboratory at the hospital, Covid Care Center, Quarantine Center and Rs.700 / – will be charged for sampling and reporting from the patient’s residence. No private laboratory in the state will be allowed to charge more than this limit, the decision said.
