Registration and re-registration of Civil Defense Volunteers started in five districts including Mumbai.
Mumbai: – The process of registration and re-registration of Civil Defense Volunteers has been started in six Civil Defense Districts namely Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nashik, Raigad and Palghar with a view to emergency measures. Those interested should contact the office of their District Deputy Controller, Civil Defense Force, appealed Dr K. Venkatesan, Director, Directorate of Civil Defense.
The Civil Defense Force has so far carried out rescue and relief work in and out of the state during many natural and man-made disasters. The policy is to expand the scope of the Civil Defense Force without limiting it to the city. Accordingly, the registration and re-registration process of Civil Defense Volunteers has been resumed in Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nashik, Raigad and Palghar districts of the state.
Dr K. Venkatesan, Director, Directorate of Civil Defense, also appealed to the people who want to serve the country by joining the Civil Defense Force to register and re-register in large numbers.
