Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said that West Maharashtra would do its utmost for the overall development of the state and would build a road network in Western Maharashtra using the latest technology.
At Karad, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated various road development works worth Rs 5,971 crore and unveiled a cornerstone. He was speaking at an event organized at this time.
Mr Gadkari said we are starting a cheap metro train for Nagpur. In the same vein, from Pune to Kolhapur, Solapur, Ahmednagar, Baramati, Lonavla, there are as many broad gauges as there are eight coaches. The metro will have eight coaches with a speed of 140 kmph. It will have four economy class coaches and two business class coaches like airlines. It will also carry freight. It will also provide employment to the local unemployed. With this service, the gap can be bridged in less time, said Mr Gadkari.
Assuring that we will always be with you to solve the road problems in Western Maharashtra, Mr Gadkari said that the new Pune-Bangalore Green Highway will be as important for this region as Pune. All traffic from Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Kolhapur, Solapur will also be reduced and pollution will also be reduced. The number of vehicles in the country is increasing exponentially. Therefore, we will make continuous efforts to reduce pollution.
