Growth of co-operative sector if collective interest is given priority.

Pune: Giving priority to collective interest over individual interest will be beneficial for the growth of the cooperative sector, said Vidyadhar Anaskar, President of Maharashtra State Co-operative Council.
On the occasion of the birth centenary of MP Gulabrao Patil, a special seminar on ‘Prosperity through Co-operation’ was organized by Maharashtra State Co-operative Union at SM Joshi Hall. He was speaking at the All India Co-operation Week. Adv. Subhash Mohite, President of Pune District Citizens Co-operative Bank Association was the President of the program. Former Mayor Ankush Kakade, Vice President of Maharashtra State Cooperative Union Hiraman Satkar etc. were present on this occasion.
Mr Anaskar said that co-operation is formed when individuals come together for the fulfilment of common needs and objectives. Now the co-operative sector is going through a transition and it needs to change over time. For economic growth, banks need to be as sophisticated in their management as the corporate sector.
Adv. Mohite said that co-operative workers need to come together and work for co-operation. More attention should be paid to putting aside the vices of co-operation and enhancing the good ones. This movement will gain momentum if everyone works towards a goal for the cooperative movement.
