In the next three months, 20,000 trained manpower will be made available from 36 different courses in the fields of healthcare, nursing and paramedical required in the Corona situation. For this, the Chief Minister’s Maha Arogya Skills Development Program was inaugurated by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The importance of the health sector has been underlined in the context of the Corona epidemic. The government is committed to providing ample manpower to this sector. The scheme launched today will provide skilled manpower to the health sector. This will be an important step towards the goal of a healthy, wholesome Maharashtra, said Chief Minister Mr Thackeray.
Chief Minister Shri. Thackeray said, recognizing the need of the hour, we are starting this training program. Most of the funding has been made available to the health department through supplementary demands in the recent monsoon session. During the Corona crisis, we have built a large number of facilities for the health sector. But it is useless if trained manpower is not available to run these facilities. Now with the creation of this manpower through the initiative started by the Skills Department today, employment opportunities will be available to the unemployed youth in the state. The scheme will be implemented effectively in the state, he said.
Mentioning that the war against coronavirus has already started, the Chief Minister said that doctors and health workers in the health sector are fighting against corona like soldiers. In war, on the one hand, weapons are necessary and on the other hand, the number of soldiers is also important. The program, which started today, will provide skilled manpower to the health sector. This will be an important step towards moving towards the goal of a healthy, wholesome Maharashtra. For this, the training program will be given full support, he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawar said that the cost of the scheme is expected to be around Rs. 35 to 40 crores. At present, a provision of Rs 20 crore has been made. Given the importance of the scheme, the remaining funds will also be made available. In the present age, a young person who has skills never goes hungry. Therefore, this program of the Skill Development Department will also play an important role in eliminating unemployment, he said.
Industry Minister Shri Desai said that the Chief Minister’s Maha Arogya Skills Development Program will be important to fill the shortage of skilled manpower in the health sector. The Department of Industry will extend its fullest cooperation for this event.
Public Health Minister Shri. Tope said corona had raised the unemployment rate in 2020. But such training programs will provide employment opportunities to the youth. Full cooperation will be provided through all the district, sub-district, Ayurvedic hospitals in the state. Candidates will get scholarships along with training. The training program will be important to ensure that good manpower is available from time to time for various campaigns like vaccination, he said.
Mrs Verma, Principal Secretary of the Department made an introduction, while the Chief Executive Officer of the Society, Shri. Kushwaha thanked him.
