Stocks worth Rs 10 lakh were seized from gutkha sellers.
Based on the information received by the Assistant Commissioner (Food) of Circle 5, S. B. Naragude, the Food Safety Officer, Smt. Barwakar, R.V. Kulkarni’s team seized pan masala, aromatic tobacco and aromatic betel nuts worth Rs 10 lakh 44,400 from a vehicle in front of the house of the gutka seller Raju Malabare at 5 am today. A vehicle worth Rs 7 lakh was also seized during the operation and is being kept at Yavat police station.
In this case, a case has been registered against the Yavat police station. A complaint has been lodged under section 328.
