Deputy Chief Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar assured that a total of Rs 25 crore would be provided for the development works of the Shirur area by the end of next March.

He was speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of the new administrative building of Shirur Municipal Council. MP Dr Amol Kolhe, MLA Ashok Pawar, Mayor Vaishali Wakhare etc. were present on this occasion.

Mr Pawar said that the new administrative building of the Municipal Council is a building that adds to the glory of Shirur. People-oriented, transparent works should be done from this building without allowing any injustice to be done to any citizen. Every decision should be driven by the development of the city. Shiruranagari should be developed with the help of all to solve the problems of the citizens.

Citizens should cooperate with the administration keeping in mind their responsibilities. If there are any objections of the citizens regarding the development plan published by the Pune Metropolitan Development Authority, it will be considered properly. The Center has provided funds for the two-lane work of Pune to Shirur road. He said that efforts are being made to resolve the pending issues of Wari Marg soon.

MP Dr Kolhe said that the Shirur area is an attempt to carry out development works in the future which will be known as the gateway of Pune and Mumbai for the citizens of Marathwada.

MLA Mr Pawar said that funds have been received from time to time for infrastructure development in the Shirur area. There will be no shortage of funds for various development works.

The flag was hoisted by the Deputy Chief Minister Mr Pawar at the Municipal Council premises. They inspected the new building.

Former MLAs Popatrao Gawde and Ramesh Thorat, Deputy Mayor Prakash Dhariwal, Chief Officer and Prasad Borkar, Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti, grandparents of Nagar Parishad, former office-bearers and officers and employees of the concerned department were present on the occasion.
