Khadi, Village Industries Corporation’s ‘Swapnanche Kautuk’ coffee table book, publication of a short film.

The coffee table book and short film ‘Swapnanche Kautuk’ prepared by Maharashtra State Khadi and Village Industries Corporation was released at the hands of Industry Minister Subhash Desai at the Ministry. Chief Executive Officer Anshu Sinha and Deputy Chief Executive Officer Bipin Jagtap were present on the occasion.

The success stories of rural entrepreneurs who have successfully created employment through various schemes of Khadi and Village Industries Corporation in the state have been published in this coffee table book. Mr Desai expressed the hope that the traditional industries in the rural areas as well as agri-businesses, handicrafts, nature-based businesses, etc., which have been successfully set up by the village industries, would be useful in inspiring young entrepreneurs.

It was clarified that the main objective of the Board was to provide employment to more and more people in the rural areas, to stop their migration and to establish viable industries in the rural areas.

Mr Desai unveiled various items made from folders, diaries and paper pulp made by Pune Handicrafts Institute.
