The corona crisis is still ongoing and citizens must abide by all the rules of the corona ban. Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar directed the police to take strict action against those who do not wear masks to prevent the spread of corona infection.
He was speaking at a review meeting on the Corona situation and measures chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar at the Pune divisional office. Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council Dr Neelam Gorhe, MP Girish Bapat, Vandana Chavan, MLA Dilip Mohite, Adv. Ashok Pawar, Sunil Shelke, Bhimrao Tapkir, Sunil Tingre, Siddharth Shirole, Rahul Kul, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao were present.
Mr Pawar said that the district has completed the phase of 1 crore doses of covid vaccination. 83 per cent have taken the first dose and 44 per cent have taken the second dose. It is a matter of satisfaction that 1440 bags of blood were collected in a large scale blood donation camp organized in rural Pune. Planning should be done to vaccinate more and more citizens. The matter will be discussed at the cabinet meeting to follow up with the central government to reduce the gap between the two doses, he said.
A decision on easing the restrictions will be taken in the first week of October. Citizens taking two doses will be allowed to practice in the swimming pool like athletes, the deputy chief minister said.
MP Bapat said the administration has done a good job of controlling the corona. He said the next few days are important and citizens need to follow the guidelines.
Retired Director General of Health Dr. Subhash Salunke informed about the necessary preparations for the possible third wave and the Corona situation.
Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao informed about the Corona situation of the district through a presentation. A vaccination facility has been provided at 1914 Kovid Center in the district. There are 898 government and 1016 private centres. 0.18 per cent of the citizens were found to be infected after taking the first dose. 0.22 per cent of the citizens were found to be infected after taking the second dose. The daily number of infected patients in the district is declining. The coronation rate in the district is 98 per cent and the death rate is 1.6 per cent. It was informed that strengthening of health centres in Shirur, Ambegaon, Maval, Junnar and Daund talukas is proposed.
