Mumbai: Covid preventive vaccination in the state crossed the 10 crore mark today. Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope informed that the health department has succeeded in reaching the stage of giving 10 crore vaccines in the state at 4 pm today.
Mr Tope said that the first dose of the vaccine has been given at 6,80,53,077 and the second dose at 3,20,74,504 in the state. A total of 10,01,27,581 vaccines have been given. This success is due in large part to the public health department’s staff at all levels, as well as everyone who contributes to the vaccination campaign.
Mr Tope said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar have given priority to speed up the vaccination drive. Funds and manpower required for this were provided. That is why this stage was passed. Every household in the state will be vaccinated. At the same time, the objective is to provide both doses of vaccine to every eligible citizen of the state by 31st December 2021.
The state’s vaccination drive began on January 16. The first vaccination campaign was carried out by the Department of Public Health. After that, vaccinations were started in private hospitals. Campaigns like Mission Kavach Kundal, Mission Youth Health were implemented to speed up vaccination.
