The Central Government should provide at least 3 crore doses of vaccine per month to Maharashtra.
Legislature approves resolution to provide 3 crore vaccines per month to Maharashtra by Central Government.
A resolution was unanimously passed in the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly today that the Central Government should provide at least 3 crore doses of vaccine per month to Maharashtra to curb the Covid infection in the state and reduce the intensity of the third wave. Health Minister Rajesh Tope moved the resolution.
The resolution moved by Mr Tope states that the state is still in a state of covid infection. In addition, new Delta Plus patients and patients with myocardial infections have been identified. Vaccination is the only way to control all of this and reduce the severity of a possible third wave. Large-scale immunizations will lead to greater immunity. On June 26, 2021, 7,38,704 people were vaccinated on the same day in the state and on July 3, 2021, more than 8 lakh people were vaccinated on the same day. The daily vaccination capacity of the State of Maharashtra is between 10 to 15 lakhs, if the Central Government provides at least 3 crore doses of vaccine per month, the vaccination in the State can be completed as soon as possible. In this regard, the people’s representatives of all parties in the state also demanded that the vaccination should be completed as soon as possible. If this vaccination is completed early, the immunity of the population will be greatly developed and the severity of the disease will be reduced. It will also reduce the stress on the health system. Level-3 restrictions can also be reduced. It will be possible to resume transactions in the state. As a result, the economy will get a boost.
The population of the state is being vaccinated as per the policy of the Central Government under the preventive measures against the increasing incidence of the Covid-19 epidemic. Implementation of Nationwide Covid-19 Preventive Vaccination Policy was launched in the State on January 16, 2021. As per the guidelines issued by the Central Government on 21st June 2021, 75% of the total production of monthly vaccines produced by domestic vaccine manufacturers is being procured from the Central Government and supplied to the State. It has been decided that the remaining 25% of the vaccine can be purchased at a private hospital. The central government has also announced that it will take responsibility for providing vaccines to all citizens between the ages of 18 and 44.
