Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has paid homage to Shivshahir Padma Vibhushan, Maharashtra Bhushan Babasaheb Purandare, saying that such a supernatural Shiv Sadhak must have gone for the praise of Shivaraya. The Chief Minister has also expressed deep grief over the demise of Shivshahir Babasaheb.
In the condolence message, the Chief Minister says that a few months ago, there was a gathering of aspirations for the centenary of Shivshahir Babasaheb. Even at that time, Babasaheb overcame his health problems and celebrated his birthday with enthusiasm. The eternal adoration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been the source of energy for the centenary of Shivshahir Babasaheb. For this, he sacrificed his life to travel throughout Maharashtra to the touch of Shivaraya. Babasaheb reached all the objects, structures and forts of Gadkot which were touched by the Maharaja. He gathered references, information, studied and researched and with the same sincerity spread Shiva Mahima not only in Maharashtra, the country but also in the world.
Purandarewada was a base for many in many ways. This support has disappeared due to his demise.
