Mumbai: The number of corona victims in Mumbai has been increasing in the last few days. Today, 2,510 new patients were found in Mumbai and 251 patients were cured. On December 1, 109 new patients were found in Mumbai and on December 21, 299 new patients were found. Today, for the third day in a row, the number of new patients in Mumbai has almost doubled from the previous day.
On December 27, 781 patients were found in Mumbai, on December 28, 1377, and today 2,510 patients were found. However, the number of patients recovering during this period is almost the same. After 21st December, 8 thousand 286 new patients were found in Mumbai and during this period 2 thousand 452 patients were cured. As a result, the positivity rate in Mumbai, which was less than 1 per cent at the beginning of December, has gone up to 5 per cent. At the beginning of the month, about 1,900 patients were being treated in Mumbai. Now, this number has gone up to 8000. The good news is that the number of deaths due to corona has not increased much during this period.
In the last week, 11 people have been killed in Mumbai due to corona. Taking the possibility of the third wave of Kovid seriously, Mumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to keep Jumbo Kovid centres operational at 5 places. For this, management services will be hired on a rental basis from a private contractor providing medical services. The corporation will spend Rs 105 crore on this. The proposal in this regard was approved without discussion and without objection.
