Mumbai: The aim is to provide the first dose of covid vaccine to all eligible citizens of the state by November 30, informed Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope today.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandvia today reviewed the Kovid preventive vaccination in all the states. The meeting was attended by Mr Tope from the Ministry through video conferencing. He gave this information at that time. Additional Chief Secretary Dr Pradeep Vyas was present on the occasion.
Mr Tope said extensive efforts are being made by the state government to vaccinate as many citizens as possible in the state. Campaigns like Mission Kavach Kundal, Mission Youth Health were implemented to speed up vaccination. This has been shown to increase the rate of vaccination. Now the vaccination camp and time is also being extended. Officials from various departments like health, revenue, urban development, education are working together in the vaccination campaign.
Public awareness is being created to allay the doubts of the citizens about vaccination. Efforts are being made for this through opinion leaders and religious leaders, he added.
A two-day interval between two doses of the covid vaccine has been fixed. Similarly, a dose of 84 days has been fixed between two doses of the Covishield vaccine. The rate of vaccination can be accelerated by reducing the gap between the two doses of the Covishield vaccine. Mr Tope requested Union Health Minister Mandvia to consider the matter.
