Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced in the Assembly that all the seats of MPSC members will be filled by the end of July 31, 2021, to speed up the work of MPSC and give justice to the candidates.
It is unfortunate that Swapnil Lonakar, a student from Pune, committed suicide due to a delay in an interview even after passing the MPSC exam and the government has taken the matter seriously. Competent arrangements will be made to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in future. The Deputy Chief Minister also clarified in the House that the government will take a positive decision regarding providing financial assistance to the Lonakar family.

The issue of suicide of Swapnil Lonakar, a student from Pune, came up for discussion in the Assembly due to the delay in the interview despite passing the MPSC exam. Replying to that discussion, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the grief inflicted on the Lonakar family is great and the state government is involved in the grief of the Lonakar family. The state government will take a positive decision to help the Lonakar family. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the delay in appointment was due to the timely decision of the court and the Corona epidemic, adding that no student should take extreme measures like suicide out of frustration.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray himself is looking into the matter and a decision will be taken to expedite the recruitment process in consultation with the MPSC president and senior government officials to resolve the problems of MPSC candidates, the Deputy Chief Minister said. He also informed the House that the recruitment process for all the posts in important departments like public health, medical education, police etc. is in full swing.
