There was no truth to reports claiming that the newly created Union Ministry of Cooperation was creating problems in Maharashtra: Sharad Pawar. Sharad-Pawar

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar has said, there was no truth to reports claiming that the newly created Union Ministry of Cooperation was creating problems in Maharashtra. Speaking to reporters at Baramati in the state on Sunday, Mr Pawar said as per the Constitution, cooperative institutions registered in a state come under the jurisdiction of that respective state while the Centre’s newly formed Ministry is about multi-state cooperative institutions. Mr Pawar’s party is in a ruling alliance with the Shiv Sena and Congress in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, on the issue of the Maharashtra Legislative Speaker, the NCP President said, his party, the Shiv Sena and the Congress have clearly decided that the post of Speaker will remain with the Congress. Mr Pawar said, in Maharashtra, three parties with independent ideologies are running the government together. He said, however, it does not mean that they run their concerned parties together.
