Maharashtra has got various tourist splendour like natural, historical, mythological, geographical. The state has a wide variety of tourism such as forests, ancient forts, caves, temples, beaches, wildlife and the Department of Tourism has undertaken various initiatives to reach out to the world. This will attract tourists from all over the country and the world to Maharashtra and through it, the tourism development of the state will be boosted to a large extent by job creation and economic growth, said Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Various initiatives of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) were inaugurated by Chief Minister Mr Thackeray at a function held at Varsha Niwas today; He was talking at the time.
MTDC’s new website renovated tourist accommodation at Sinhagad and launch of boat club at Ganpatipule.
MTDC has launched a new website with an improved booking engine as well as detailed information of tourist destinations in the state to provide faster and more efficient service. Also, the tourist accommodation of MTDC at Sinhagad (Dist. Pune) has been renovated. A boat club is being started at Ganpatipule (Dist. Ratnagiri) and these three activities were inaugurated by the Chief Minister Mr Thackeray at this time.

In addition, a memorandum of understanding was signed with reputed websites like Make My Trip and Go I Bebo to facilitate the booking of MTDC’s tourist accommodations and make this booking facility available to tourists from all over the world. As a result, MTDC’s tourist packages can now be booked from anywhere using these websites. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Sky-Hi to launch Sky Diving Adventure in Maharashtra. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed with the Maharashtra State Institute of Hotel Management today to conduct an annual training program for MTDC employees. The agreement was signed by MTDC Managing Director Ashutosh Salil and representatives of the concerned organizations in the presence of dignitaries including Chief Minister Shri Thackeray.
Infinite opportunities for tourism in the state.
Chief Minister Mr Thackeray further said that despite the current restrictions on tourism due to Corona, the decisions taken by the Tourism Department for the development of tourism in the state along with formulating various policies and enhancing the infrastructure of tourist destinations are commendable. We need to take our tourism glory to the world and add new tourist destinations, new things to it. Mumbai is a city full of tourism diversity. There is a beach, there is wildlife, there are ancient temples-caves and forts. There are forests like Sanjay Gandhi National Park and also Flamingo Sanctuary. All of this is accompanied by modernity. Now the state government has taken the initiative to start a world-class aquarium in Mumbai. Our state is similarly endowed with tourism diversity. After visiting the Vitthal temple in Pandharpur, we only visit Vithoba. But this temple is also worth seeing and there are carvings on the pillars, various mythological events are carved on it. The temples in the Lonar area are similarly historic and magnificent. He said that on the backdrop of Amsterdam’s Tulip Garden, you can do flower tours on the Cas Plateau in the Satara district.
Service facilities should be of good quality.
The Chief Minister appreciated the initiative taken by MTDC for the renovation of their tourist accommodation. He said that any tourist from all over the world should give preference to MTDC’s tourist accommodation when making a booking, in such a way that good quality services are available there. The MoU signed with Sky-High today will boost adventure tourism in the state. He said that the tourism department would be given maximum encouragement in the future to open up the tourism glory of the state to the world through all such means.
Special attention of the state government on tourism development: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that all the initiatives launched today are a great boost to the tourism development of the state. Although 75 years have passed since the independence of the country and 60 years since the establishment of the state of Maharashtra, the history of the country and Maharashtra is thousands of years old. This history is glorious and rich. This history must go to the people in the right way. For this, there is a need to boost tourism. We have made a substantial provision in the budget for the growth of tourism in the state. The government is ready to provide more funds to the tourism department. Because there is great strength in the tourism sector. The history of the country reaches all over the world through tourists. It creates a lot of jobs. The economy is booming. The economies of many countries around the world depend on tourism. The tourism sector is the largest employer, so the state government pays special attention to tourism development in the state. As a part of this, on the occasion of Tourism Day, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs. 2,905 crore with the hospitality sector in the state. He said the MoU would boost the tourism sector in the state.
Tourism literacy required
Emphasis should be placed on quality improvement and cleanliness in MTDC’s tourist accommodation facilities. Also, there is a need to create awareness among the tourists about making people literate, not throwing rubbish in tourist places, not throwing plastic, not writing anything on historical objects. Apart from this, the websites of MTDC and Tourism Department should be available in Marathi along with English and other foreign languages, said Deputy Chief Minister Shri. Pawar did it this time.
