2,823 crore MoU with CAUSIS e-Mobility to boost electric vehicle manufacturing.
Maharashtra is moving towards environmentally friendly sustainable development. As a part of this, the state has started implementing the Electric Vehicle (EV) policy, under which investments are being made in the field of e-mobility manufacturing and infrastructure development through CAUSIS Company. The company will be fully supported by the state government, said Industry Minister Subhash Desai.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and CAUSISe-Mobility Company to manufacture electric vehicles at Talegaon near Pune at a function held at Sahyadri Guest House. An investment memorandum of understanding worth Rs 2,823 crore was signed between the Department of Industry and CAUSIS E-Mobility Company of England to promote zero-emission and environmentally friendly vehicle manufacturing. Mr Desai was speaking at this time. Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray, Additional Chief Secretary for Industries Baldev Singh, Development Commissioner Harshdeep Kamble, MIDC Chief Executive Officer P Anbalgan, CAUSIS Group founder and director Ram Tumuluri were present. The agreement was signed by P Anbalgan on behalf of MIDC and Ravikumar Panga, Director, CAUSIS.
Industry Minister Shri Desai said that the people are eagerly awaiting the implementation of the state’s environmentally friendly electric vehicle policy. For this, the government is welcoming entrepreneurs to invest in the EV sector. The state has a conducive environment for industries and all the necessary facilities are being provided. He welcomed the company in the state, saying that full cooperation would also be extended to the CAUSIS company.
Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray informed about the EV policy of the state. Reducing pollution is the need of the hour and Maharashtra is moving towards e-mobility with the changing technology. He welcomed the CAUSIS company for investing in the state in line with the state’s policy of embracing the essentials of climate change.
Expressing their views, Mr Tumuluri and Mr Panga of CAUSIS said that Maharashtra has taken important decisions in the field of industry and environment to get rid of pollution. Praising the EV policy of the state, he said that the infrastructure in the state is also great for industries. He also mentioned that he has received a professional response from MIDC.
In his introductory remarks, Additional Chief Secretary Baldev Singh said that Maharashtra is a leader in foreign investment and a preferred state for entrepreneurs. He assured that all necessary facilities would be provided to the entrepreneurs in the state and all cooperation would also be extended to CAUSIS. P. Anbalgan welcomed all.
An investment of Rs 2,823 crore is proposed in Talegaon through CAUSIS and the project will create 1250 jobs. It will also help control climate change. CAUSIS Group will set up a large project in England to supply EV batteries in the first phase and a factory in Maharashtra in the second phase. This will give a boost to the developed ecosystem of the state and help in increasing the share of electric vehicles in public transport in major cities of the state to 25 per cent.
