Unauthorized bike (two-wheeler), taxi service should be stopped immediately, otherwise legal action.
Pune: Unauthorized and illegally started bike (two-wheeler), taxi service should be stopped immediately, legal action will be taken if such service is found to be running again, informed the Sub Regional Transport Office, Pune.
The use of two-wheeler/taxi vehicles registered in the private category on a rental basis violates the license conditions as well as the registration rules. Concerned passengers will not get any benefit (insurance cover after the accident) while availing of such service.
These companies are unofficially operating only on the basis of online websites or apps. Drivers of such services are travelling without helmets, regardless of traffic rules and road safety.
According to the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, vehicles used must be registered in the hired transport category. It is mandatory to meet the prescribed terms and conditions while registering the company. This business can be started after the approval of the State Transport Authority.
Don’t take advantage of the services provided by the company’s website and app at the risk of your life. Also, your two-wheeler should not be made available for this service which is operating illegally. Deputy Regional Transport Officer Sanjay Sasane has informed that action will be taken under section 66/992A of the Motor Vehicles Act for transporting unlicensed passengers.
