Vaccinate 100% in the state by November 30 – Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s instructions.

MUMBAI: The state is all set to give a record number of covid vaccines per day and has already given similar doses. Now, to speed it up, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has given a target to the District Collector to get 100 per cent vaccination of the entire state in at least the first dose by November 30.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will review the covid vaccination on November 3 tomorrow. The meeting was attended by Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope from Jalna.

In the committee room at Varsha’s residence, Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte, Additional Chief Secretary of Public Health Department Dr Pradeep Vyas, Health Services Commissioner N. Ramaswamy, Medical Education and Research Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Vikas Kharge, Covid Task Force Chairman Dr Sanjay Oak, Member Dr Shashank Joshi, Dr Rahul Pandit etc. were present.

The Chief Minister also appealed to the citizens to give preference to both the doses without any hesitation as the coronavirus has not gone away yet. Instructing to make efforts to complete 100 per cent vaccination in their respective districts, the Chief Minister also directed the people from all walks of life and religions to participate in this vaccination drive.

Citizens should not be indifferent

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that the incidence of covid infection is decreasing. However, special efforts will have to be made to ensure that citizens do not become complacent. Although the incidence of infection is decreasing, testing should not be reduced. We developed laboratories at various places in the state. It should be used.

Citizens should be made aware that although covid infection has decreased, covid is not gone yet. In addition to vaccination, awareness campaigns should be carried out to keep the covid consistent. Cinemas are being started. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that messages about vaccination should be shown in every cinema.

Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope said local officials should be involved in the vaccination drive. Both doses of vaccine should be made mandatory for health workers and frontline workers. Vaccination should be done through mobile units in hilly areas, he said.

Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte said that the Collector should analyze the statistics of vaccination and decide the policy on vaccination accordingly. He said that special measures should be taken after Diwali to speed up vaccination.

The Chairman of the Task Force, Dr Sanjay Oak, Dr Shashank Joshi, Dr Rahul Pandit presented these suggestions. Aurangabad District Collector Sunil Chavan, Nandurbar District Collector Manisha Khatri and Buldana District Collector informed about the efforts being made to speed up vaccination.
