Vaccination of over eight and a half lakh beneficiaries in the state during the day – Information of Additional Chief Secretary Dr Pradeep Vyas.
Mumbai: Covid-19 vaccine was given to more than eight and a half lakh beneficiaries in the state yesterday, said Dr Pradeep Vyas, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Department.
The ‘Mission Kavach Kundale Abhiyan‘ is being implemented to speed up vaccination in the state. The campaign is being implemented from October 8 to October 14, 2021. Special efforts are being made to increase vaccination in urban and semi-urban areas of the state.
Pune district at the forefront
Additional Chief Secretary Dr Pradeep Vyas said that 6 thousand 47 vaccination sessions were conducted during the day yesterday. 8 lakh 63 thousand 635 beneficiaries were vaccinated. So far 8 crores 72 lakh 93 thousand 844 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the state. Yesterday, the highest number of vaccines was given in the Pune district i.e. 99,071. This was followed by vaccination in Thane (90139) and Mumbai (88991).
Notice to Municipal Commissioner
Strict planning should be done for vaccination in the city, such instructions have been given by Additional Chief Secretary Mr Vyas to all Municipal Commissioners. Accordingly, planning is being done by the Municipal Commissioner of the State. Dr Vyas is conducting a special review to speed up vaccination in the city.
Awareness through ‘Mission Corona Victory’
Special efforts are being made to create awareness about vaccination. Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope has launched the ‘Mission Corona Vijay’ campaign to create awareness about vaccination in Pune, Nandurbar, Jalna and Aurangabad districts. The campaign is being implemented by the American Indian Foundation and the Department of Health.
