He was speaking at the inauguration of the Sitabardi-Zero Mile Freedom Park-Kasturchand Park section and Freedom Park (via television system). Metro service was launched through e-flag. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Guardian Minister Dr Nitin Raut, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Sunil Kedar, Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis, Union Housing Minister Hardeep Singh Puri (via television system) and MP Kripal Tumane, MLA Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, Adv. Abhijit Vanjari, Vikas Thackeray, Krishna Khopde, Raju Parve, Vikas Kumbhare and other local people’s representatives, Divisional Commissioner Smt. Prajakta Lavangare, Collector R. Vimala, Managing Director of Mahametro Brijesh Dixit, Union Secretary Shri. Durga Prasad Mishra and other dignitaries were present.
A network of metros and highways is being constructed in the state for progress and development. We are taking this work of Metro forward in an advanced way. The Chief Minister also suggested that Mahometro should consider the development of the road under that route as a part of the project, beautify it and create facilities for the citizens there.

This transport system in the busiest and most important part of Nagpur Metro will connect about one lakh passengers. Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde said that the country is being identified from the streets. He said that Samrudhi Highway connecting Vidarbha-Marathwada with Mumbai would be a milestone for the progress of the state.
Union Housing Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said the Nagpur Metro project is environmentally friendly. He also gave details of the project. ‘Floating Track Slab Technology’ is implemented. It will help reduce noise and vibration, he said.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said the Sitabardi-Zero Mile Freedom Park-Kasturchand Park section was a masterpiece of architecture built by the most innovative and unique French architect. With a twenty-storey building and a metro running from the fourth floor, it is a perfect example of innovative Rajput architecture. He announced the construction of an underpass road to facilitate passenger transport from Cotton Market to Science College. He made some suggestions to make this metro station even more attractive. He made special mention of Devendra Fadnavis and Brijesh Dixit of Metro for providing funds for the work of Mahametro by the then government. He assured to provide funds to Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation for road works. He also mentioned that the work of the music fountain being carried out by Mahametro at Telangkhedi-Futala would be of international standard. He expressed the feeling of constant cooperation in development works.
Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis said the historic Zero Mile would be magnified by the Freedom Park and the 20-storey Metro building. He also lauded Mahometro for working fast in the country.
